Turning Your Passion Into a Career

The world is changing much more quickly than it once did. New technologies lead to new careers. The pandemic opened and closed many doors for professionals in all industries. Just as the world around us changes, so do we as people. It’s natural that our hobbies, interests, circumstances (good and bad), and connections may compel us to think more deeply about a career change of some kind. Whether it’s a side hustle or a full-time job, we’re here to show you that you can truly turn your passion into a fulfilling and sustainable career.

If you’re interested in exploring a career as a pilates instructor, check out the details of our coming training in January 2024 Click here.

What To Think About Before Investing in a New Career

  • Ask yourself why you’re interested in a new profession. Get clear on how a new career or side hustle will improve your life. Review your emotional, social, spiritual, and financial wellness. Consider how a new job opportunity may improve your life in each of these categories.

  • Get honest information from someone who knows. We recommend talking to more than one person in the company or field you’re exploring. For example, you’ll learn something different from each of our Niche instructors if you’re considering our Pilates instructor training.

  • Do you have the ability to keep your current job while you train? It’s important to be smart when exploring new career opportunities. You’ll need time to train, earn the necessary certifications, and build your business before it becomes profitable. If you can keep earning income and begin your new passion project, we definitely recommend it!

  • Learn the financial side of the profession you’re interested in. Break out the calculator! How much can you expect to earn a week, a month, or a year? How many hours are you able to work and earn the money you need to sustain your lifestyle and save for the future?

  • Do you want your new career to be full-time or on the side? You don’t have to figure this out right away, but it’s a question to keep top of mind as you begin to dig in and really learn your new craft. You’ll learn what other changes you may need to make throughout your life as this distinction becomes more clear for you.

Exploring A Career As a Pilates Instructor?
Here are a few misconceptions..

  • The training is too expensive. Niche Instructor Training Foundations + Reformer program prepares you to teach Pilates. You can demo to become an apprentice instructor after passing the program’s qualifications and 50% of your practice hours. Once you are on board as an Apprentice instructor you get paid to finish your teaching hours. You can begin to return your investment in a few months. We also have a payment plan via after-pay available. This breaks the investment of the program into four payments.

  • It’s stressful. Exercise in general actually helps reduce stress. Pilates specifically compels students and teachers alike to tune into their bodies and minds intentionally. You’ll find that more pilates in your life will lead to happier days.

  • You’ll miss out on your own workout time. As an instructor, you have access to the studio and reformers all day, every day! You can work out any time. In addition, you can join classes when there is availability. Fun Fact: Our instructors take 2,500-4,000 steps per class, so you are moving even while you are teaching! We also encourage you to enjoy other fitness activities outside of pilates.

  • Scheduling is hard. While you do make a commitment to start and end classes at specific times, you have a choice about which classes you teach and when. In addition, private lessons are very flexible in terms of time.

What Our Students + Instructors Say

  • “I was a client at Niche for a year before I decided I wanted to do the education route.  The instructors and the team there made me want to be a part of the company.  Everyone genuinely enjoyed teaching and they were all so knowledgeable. I couldn't wait to learn from them.” -Karry

  • “Training like any education is an investment.  I began teaching as soon as possible and had my training investment pretty much made back by during my second month of teaching.” -Amber

  • “The in-person coursework provides a great environment for hands-on learning. I really appreciated that a holistic and community-focused approach was regularly modeled and reinforced. My cohort immediately bonded and we have continued to support each other as we each work towards testing out.” -Sabrina
