Thinking About Teaching Pilates? Start With the Mat

If you’ve ever considered dipping a toe into Pilates instruction, this is the place to start.

Mat Pilates is the most accessible, versatile, and portable entry point into the Pilates world  and it’s where many instructors discover a career (or side hustle) they didn’t know was possible.

Program Overview

Join us in March for Mat Pilates Instructor Training, a hybrid program combining online coursework with in-person training. This comprehensive format gives you the knowledge, practice, and confidence you need to teach mat Pilates in virtually any setting.

Why Mat Training?

One of the greatest benefits of mat training is its adaptability. We’ve taught mat classes everywhere including studios, rooftop bars, gym floors, grassy fields, and across digital platforms. The mat is the most versatile of all Pilates apparatuses and serves as the foundation from which all other equipment is mastered.

Whether you’re:

  • exploring a new career path,

  • expanding your work as a movement professional, or

  • deepening your personal practice,

this training is designed to be informative, practical, and collaborative, with hands-on guidance from experienced trainers and meaningful connection with your cohort.

Accessibility & Career Potential

Mat training isn’t just physically accessible, it’s financially and logistically accessible too.

You can become fully trained and certified for under $2,000 (with payment plans starting below $200/month) and be prepared to teach by the end of the summer. Graduates often begin working immediately, whether as a side hustle or a full-time role.

Our instructors come from a wide range of backgrounds and go on to equally diverse paths, including:

  • Stay-at-home parents adding flexible, part-time work

  • Business owners opening their own Pilates studios

  • Full-time professionals building a nights-and-weekends side hustle

  • Dedicated clients becoming instructors to deepen their practice

  • Empty nesters seeking a new chapter

  • Physical therapists and personal trainers expanding their expertise

Training Structure

The program begins with Foundations of Anatomy, an online module that establishes the base knowledge for Pilates instruction. From there, you’ll complete:

  • Three in-person training days

  • Self-paced study

  • Required practice hours leading to test-out registration and certification
