Our History

Niche Pilates Studio made its footing in 2017 as an all encompassing fitness studio in Richmond, VA, offering Pilates, yoga, and TRX-incorporated classes. As we grew, so did our clients’ love for our Pilates classes, leading us to establishing ourselves as a Pilates studio in 2018.

In 2021, we then launched Niche Instructor Training and began our first round of instructor training. Then in 2023, we expanded and relocated to a new studio in the Fan. Since 2017 ‘till now, we have seen over 7,000 clients walk through our doors!

At Niche, Pilates is not about following fashionable trend. Our studio and practice is rooted in Pilates principles, and we want all our clients of all ages, body types, fitness levels, and backgrounds to explore the long-term benefits of this movement that will lead you to a healthy life with a healthy body and a healthy mind.

Great question!

Our classes are designed to fit every level at varying intensities. While this is the case, we still recommend to take it slow and get accustomed to Pilates movements. If you’re new to Pilates, we recommend classes like Move Mat or Beginner Reformer.

Absolutely!

All you need is curiosity and drive to learn! We host a beginner Reformer class every Saturday at 11:30am. While not required, grippy socks may be useful for your first reformer class, which we have available at the studio.

We want you to come as you are.

But instructors can best see your form and alignment in form fitting clothing, but if loose-fitting shorts or pants and a shirt or tank top are your style, we’ll still be here to support you!

Nope!

We provide mats (and mat covers for you). However, if you prefer to bring your own, that’s absolutely welcome.

Of course!

We get it. We offer drop-ins and packages, and if you’re new to our studio, we have starter packs! For your first class, please come 10 minutes early so our Client Experience Team can check you in and walk you through our studio policies. Unfortunately, we do not allow new clients to attend a class once a class has started. Read our new client guide here.

Click “Book a Class”, and you will be led to bsport to create an account. We recommend using the app to easily access our schedule, or you can view it here.

Yes!

Free street parking is available, and we have a parking lot available located on the NW side of Main Street, across the street from Beauvine Burger Concept.

5 minutes after class has started.

We allow a 5-minute grace period for returning clients. Unfortunately, for new clients, we do not allow a late arrival. This is to ensure your safety, and it allows time for our instructors to get to know you before class starts!

10 hours before class.

Sometimes, time is not on our side. We totally get it! If you are unable to make it to class, we request that you cancel 10 hours prior to the class start time to allow for other clients on the waitlist to book that class. Cancellations past those 10 years will result in loss of credit.
