🌈 Your Guide to Pride Month 2025 in Richmond, VA

Richmond, Virginia shines with vibrant energy and love during Pride Month each June. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, the city offers a wide array of events, resources, and ways to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of Pride Month in RVA!

Richmond’s Can’t Miss Pride Events

Pride Month kicks off with the Richmond Rainbow Pride Parade & Festival, happening on Sunday, June 1, 2025. The parade begins at 10:00 AM at Nicholl Park, making its way toward the Richmond Civic Center Plaza where the festival continues until 4:00 PM. Expect a lively day filled with drag performances, music, food trucks, and vendor booths representing local LGBTQ+ organizations and businesses. For details, check out richmondrainbowpride.org.

This year, Niche Pilates Studio is celebrating Pride with movement, music, and meaningful community connection. On June 3 at 6:45 PM, join us in-studio for a special Move Mat Pilates Pride Soundtrack Class, featuring an energizing playlist of queer anthems and LGBTQ+ artists. On Tuesday June 17th, we’ll be hosting a donation-based yoga class with instructor Jaclyn, with all proceeds going to Side by Side. It’s our way of giving back and standing in solidarity with the queer community through wellness and intentional movement. Sign up today

Starting the same day and running through the week is Dine Out for Pride, a delicious collaboration between the LGBTQ+ community and some of Richmond’s favorite eateries. From June 1–8, participating restaurants will offer special Pride-themed menu items, with a portion of proceeds benefiting organizations like Virginia Pride and the OutRVA campaign. Midway through the month, literature lovers will gather for Pride LitCon 2025, scheduled for Saturday, June 14 at the ACCA Shriners Center. This all-day book festival will feature over 50 LGBTQIA+ authors spanning genres from fantasy to nonfiction, creating a space where readers and writers can connect, celebrate queer storytelling, and discover new voices. Later that evening, the celebration shifts into nightlife with the Official Pride Bar Crawl, also on June 14, beginning at 3:00 PM at Liquid 2.0 in Shockoe Bottom. It’s one of the most festive events of the month, offering themed drink specials, dancing, and stops at many of Richmond’s LGBTQ+-friendly bars. For more information visit the website here.

Sports fans can show their pride on Thursday, June 26, at Richmond Flying Squirrels' annual Pride Night at The Diamond. The evening combines baseball with community celebration, offering Pride-themed giveaways and fireworks, creating an atmosphere that’s perfect for families and friends alike. While most cities wrap up Pride in June, Richmond saves one of its biggest celebrations for the fall. VA PrideFest 2025 takes place on Saturday, September 27, at Midtown Green, offering a massive celebration with headlining musicians, food trucks, community groups, and thousands of attendees. Connecting With the Community

Richmond is home to a strong and supportive LGBTQ+ network that extends well beyond the festival schedule. Organizations like Diversity Richmond provide year-round programming, art shows, and events, especially during Pride Month. Side by Side offers vital support services and safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth and their families, while Equality Virginia continues its advocacy efforts to ensure inclusive policies statewide. These groups often host open houses, discussions, and workshops throughout June, creating welcoming environments for all.

Where to Eat, Drink, and Celebrate

The city’s food and nightlife scene embraces the Pride spirit with open arms. Iconic LGBTQ+-friendly venues like Babes of Carytown, a long-standing lesbian bar, offer themed nights and live performances. Barcode, located downtown, serves as a stylish hub for dance parties and happy hours. Over in Scott’s Addition, Richmond Triangle Players delivers thought-provoking and entertaining performances throughout the month—many with Pride-specific programming. Their adjoining café makes for a perfect pre- or post-show gathering spot.

Drag brunches are another staple of the Richmond Pride experience. Local favorites like Godfrey’s serve up high-energy shows alongside mimosas and southern breakfast plates every weekend. Be sure to book ahead, these shows fill up fast in June!
