What Actually Happens During a Private at Niche?
For many clients, a private Pilates or strength session is also the most confidence-building first step before entering a larger group class. You get the space to learn the studio, understand the equipment, ask every question, and move at a pace that feels right for you. By the time you join a group class, you can walk in knowing you already have a foundation.
It Starts With a Conversation
Your instructor will take time to learn about your fitness background, current routine, movement experience, goals, preferences, and anything that may be affecting how you feel in your body. You may want to build strength, improve posture, return to movement after time away, feel more comfortable in Pilates classes, or learn how to use weights with confidence in our strength studio.
This conversation is an opportunity to share what has and has not worked for you in the past. Maybe group fitness has felt intimidating. Maybe you are unsure what to expect in a Reformer class. Maybe you have always been curious about strength training but have not known where to start. Your instructor can use that information to create a session that feels welcoming, clear, and appropriately challenging.
You do not need fitness experience or the right terminology. You only need to arrive ready to learn.
A Session Designed Around You
Every private session at Niche Pilates Studio can be tailored to the individual.
You may work on connecting to your core, improving hip or shoulder stability, developing balance, or finding more control in movements that feel unfamiliar at first. If you have taken group Pilates classes before, a private session can also help you better understand the exercises you see regularly, so you can get more out of every class.
In a private personal training session, you’ll receive the same level of individualized attention during a focused strength-training workout. Your instructor may guide you through foundational movement patterns like squatting, hinging, pushing, pulling, carrying, and rotating while using equipment such as cable machines, dumbbells, and kettlebells. You’ll refine your form, build strength, and learn how to progress safely and confidently.
The goal is not to rush through a long list of exercises. It is to help you understand how to move with purpose.
How to know which session to book
Both Pilates Privates and Personal Training offer individualized instruction, but each session focuses on different aspects of movement and fitness. Build Confidence Before Group Classes
Group classes at Niche are designed to be supportive, welcoming, and energizing. Still, starting something new or returning after an injury or childbirth can feel vulnerable, especially when you are unfamiliar with the equipment, movement vocabulary, or pace of class. You may also be looking to deepen your understanding of Pilates or strength training through personalized instruction before joining a group setting.
A private session can make that first group class feel much less intimidating.
You will have the chance to learn how to use the cable machines, set yourself up safely on the bench, choose the right weight, and move confidently through foundational strength exercises. Your instructor will introduce you to the equipment, help you understand proper form and technique, and guide you through the structure and flow of our strength-training classes.
That personalized time gives you room to pause, ask questions, and repeat movements without feeling rushed. You can discover what options feel best for your body and gain a better sense of your own starting point.
Then, when you arrive for a group class at Niche Pilates Studio, you can focus less on wondering whether you are doing it “right” and more on enjoying the experience. You will recognize the environment, understand the basics, and have more confidence participating alongside the rest of the community.
