Developing a Career in Pilates: Are you ready to level up your Pilates practice?
Week after week, Pilates has become your go-to ritual for equal parts movement and mindfulness. You’ve been dedicated to your Pilates practice, showing up to class several times a week, and even encouraging your friends to join you for a Saturday session (followed by smoothies, of course). Or maybe you're just starting to feel the stirrings of needing a change in your life. Whether it’s a sense of stagnation in your current routine or a desire to reconnect with yourself, you might be asking yourself the question: is it time to level up your Pilates practice?
Below are some signs that Niche Instructor Training might be the next step for you:
Sequencing to the other side happens automatically—no cues needed
Grippy socks outnumber regular socks in the drawer
Squat pulses sneak into everyday movements (like unloading the dishwasher)
You understand that lasting change comes from small, consistent effort
A meaningful, people-centered career sounds more and more appealing
Seeking a flexible side gig that aligns with your passion
Always eager to learn and ready to dive into a new avenue of growth
If any of the items above ignite a spark in your core (in the same way that a high plank with knee drivers might) then it could be the right time to consider taking your Pilates education to the next level by signing up for our in-person reformer training this September!
Curious if you’re ready? You can always test your skills and knowledge as you're moving along in class or while you’re following along with one of our Youtube videos! Check in and notice if you are making the physical adjustments before the instructor cues them, such as: “bring both hip points to face the footbar”. If you’re a seasoned mover, then you likely already rolled that hip down and squared your pelvis. Maybe you’re even ready to add your own flair to the class plan. You like to do single-arm work before double arm work to notice how different each side of the body feels, or adding in the scooter after a lunge just feels right. If your focus during class has shifted from “breath through this movement” to “how can I adjust or amplify this movement?” then you are likely ready for the next step and we can’t wait to support you on your journey!
