Mentoring Through NIT
One of the most important parts of any instructor training program is not just what you learn, but how you are supported while you learn it. At Niche, mentoring is built into the experience so students can grow with guidance, feedback, and community along the way.
Mentoring In Person
In-person training gives students immediate access to support from the instructor trainers. Through practice teaching, observation, and real-time feedback, students can ask questions, make adjustments, and better understand how exercises translate into teaching.
This hands-on experience helps students build confidence faster because they are learning in the moment and receiving guidance as they go. In-person training also creates opportunities to connect with the team and learn in a setting that feels collaborative and supportive.
Mentoring Online
Mentoring is just as much a part of the online experience. Online students have access to a dedicated NIT Administrator for questions, clarification, and program guidance, so they always have support as they move through the training.
In addition, online students can receive feedback from instructor trainers and connect through online training days and community touchpoints. This helps create a sense of connection and support, even in a virtual format.
Learning With Your Cohort
Whether in person or online, learning alongside a cohort is one of the most valuable parts of NIT. Students are moving through the same material, sharing questions, and supporting one another throughout the process.
That shared experience creates space for connection, accountability, and encouragement. Everyone progresses at a different pace, and that flexibility allows students to feel supported by both the curriculum and the community around them.
After Training
Mentoring does not end when training is complete. After graduation, NIT students are added to the NIT Graduate Newsletter, where we continue to share helpful resources, tips, updates, and videos designed to support you as you grow into your teaching career.
This ongoing connection helps keep graduates supported long after certification. Whether it is continued inspiration, teaching tips, or a reminder that you are part of a larger community, the goal is to keep the learning going well beyond the classroom.
Why Mentoring Matters
Learning to teach is not just about memorizing exercises. It is about building confidence, making decisions in real time, and learning how to adapt to different bodies and different needs.
At Niche, our goal is to create a mentoring experience that helps instructors feel connected, encouraged, and prepared as they move through training and beyond.
